The NBA is my favourite sports league. I love everything about it: The rules, the teams, the players and the competitiveness, I love everything about it. The Nba has the most household names in sport’s history. I don’t think there’s anyone in the world that doesn’t know the names Michael Jordan and Lebron James. Just bringing up these two players in the same sentence brings up the most heated debate in sports, who is the greatest of all time? I wanna make the case for both players to see who the GOAT truly is.

Micheal Jordan played 13 seasons with the Chicago Bulls in those 13 seasons he won 6 championships, he was the finals MVP in all 6 and was a 5 time regular season MVP, a 12 time all star, he was selected to 1st team all NBA 10 times and was a one time Defensive Player of the Year. Just this resume alone screams greatness, without any analysis you can already tell how dominant of a player Micheal Jordan was. When it comes to scoring he might as well be one of the greatest scores of all time, he averaged an insane 31.5 points per game during his entire career. He scored more points on average than any other player, beating out Wilt Chamberlain by a few decimal places. Not only was he an excellent scorer he was very efficient too, he had one of the best offensive techniques ever with plenty of ways to get to the basket either by using his quick first step or his crazy athleticism. If that didn’t work he would post you up and shoot the ball over you. He is without a doubt the greatest mid range shooter of all time he could even drill the pointers like it was nothing, Micheal Jordan’s offensive skill set gave him the greatest efficiency rating of all time. On defense Michael Jordan was still one of the best on the floor, he was excellent and getting steals, forcing turnovers, and contesting shots. I believe just naming Micheal Jordan’s offensive and defensive capabilities alone solidify him as the greatest basketball player of all time.

In Lebron James freshman year of high school he caught the Interest of every NBA scout. He averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and went undefeated and won the high school championships. He had the everything needed to be a NBA player at just the age of 14 years old which is why sports illustrated placed him it’s cover, this cover set outrages expectations on a young Lebron and became the most hyped up prospect in sports history. Not only did he reach every single expectation he outdid every single one. In his career Lebron James has played in the NBA  for 17 seasons and is a 16 time all star he’s won four championships and was named finals MVP for all 4, he’s won 4 regular season MVPs. Lebron has gone to the finals 10 times and has been there for 9 straight missing the playoffs only once due to injuries. At the old age of 36 Lebron Is still the best player in the world and many believe he is on the way to win his 5th NBA championship. Averaging amazing stats of 27 points 7.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists Lebron has made it to the top or close to it in every major Statistic. He has the 3rd highest all-time points with 34,750 and is 8th in all-time assists with 9,496. Lebron James is easily the best all around Basketball player ever being dominating in both offense and defense, he is a top 5 all time playmaker as has proven time and time again that Lebron James is the greatest player of all time.
